Paradise Valley's after-school program aims to help gifted students   1/26/2012 The Paradise Valley Unified School District launched a unique after-school program this month to meet the needs of gifted students in and outside district boundaries.The free program, called Digital Learning Experience, combines the district's newest technology with face-to-face meetings with teachers to produce individualized digital projects. Based at Sunrise Middle School in northeast Phoenix, the program meets twice a week after school and on Saturday mornings. It also will be offered the first two weeks in June. Fourth- through sixth-grade students from other districts and from charter and private schools also may apply, said Dina Brulles, the district's director of gifted education.
