The National Guild for Community Arts Education is giving up to $20,000 to exemplary community school of the arts and public school partnerships.

Get Ur Good On Grants
Deadline: May 27
If you're ready to make a positive impact in your community, Miley Cyrus and her friends at YSA want to help. With $500 Get Ur Good On Grants, you'll have the inspiration, project support, and necessary funding to turn your idea into a reality. Kids and young adults ages 5-25 worldwide are eligible to apply for a $500 Get Ur Good On Grant to support youth-led projects. Projects must address a demonstrated community need or issue, and must take place during June, July and/or August 2012. 
 
State Farm Good Neighbor Student Achievement Grants

State Farm™ is proud to team up with Youth Service America (YSA) to offer grants of up to $1,000 for programs enhancing student achievement through service-learning in K-12 public schools in all fifty US states. Grant focus is academic achievement, workplace readiness, and stronger communities for 12 to 14 weeks of Service.
 
Captain Planet Foundation Grants
Deadline: May 31, 2012
The mission of the Captain Planet Foundation is to fund and support hands-on, environmental projects for children and youths. Through environmental education, they believe that children can achieve a better understanding and appreciation for the world in which they live. Generally, the range of grants awarded by the Foundation is $250 - $2,500 for innovative programs that empower children and youth around the world to solve environmental problems in their neighborhoods and communities.

Promise Neighborhoods Grants
Deadline: June 8, 2012
The U.S. Department of Education has announced the latest round of Promise Neighborhoods applications, which include both planning and implementation grants. The department expects to distribute 15 planning grants worth up to $500,000 each, and five to seven implementation grants worth $4 million to $6 million each. Notices of Intent to Apply are due June 8; applications are due July 27.

The Fender Music Foundation

Deadline: Rolling (reopening in July)
Multiple awards ranging from $500 to $5000 worth of instruments and equipment. Provides music instruction for people of any age who would not otherwise have the opportunity to make music.
 
Tony Hawk Foundation Skatepark Grants
Deadline: July 2, 2012
The Tony Hawk Foundation provides grants of $1,000 to $25,000 to encourage and facilitate the design, development, construction, and operation of high-quality public skateparks serving at-risk youth in low-income areas across the United States. 501(c)(3) public charity or a state or local agency (including public school systems or public projects) are eligible.

Navy and Marine Corps STEM Education Grants
Deadline: September 20, 2012
U.S. Department of Defense will give out multiple grants of $200,000 to city or township governments, independent school districts, public institutions of higher education, tribal organizations, nonprofits, for-profits, small businesses to foster an interest in, knowledge of and study in science, technology, engineering and mathematics nationwide to ensure an educated and well-prepared naval and national STEM workforce by engaging students in STEM-related hands-on learning activities with Naval relevance. 
 
Green Thumb Challenge Grant
Deadline: September 30, 2012
GEF and Gardener’s Supply Company have teamed up on an exciting funding opportunity for established youth garden projects nationwide! The organizations are calling on schools and youth groups to submit chronicles of their garden projects in a race to win a $5,000 prize. The award is designed to support the continued sustainability of an exceptional youth garden program that has demonstrated success, and has impacted the lives of kids and their community.

Entertainment Software Association Foundation is dedicated to supporting positive programs and opportunities that make a difference in the lives of America’s youth. Support will be granted to geographically diverse projects and programs that benefit American boys and girls of all races and religions. To receive funding, an organization making a grant request must meet specific criteria:
 
Grants for Archery Programs
Deadline: Ongoing
Each year, the Easton Sports Development Foundation gives grants that benefit archery and bow hunting programs. Grant requests of less than $25,000 from schools and qualified 501(c)3 organizations may be eligible to receive funding at any time.
 
Grants for Baseball Programs
Deadline: Ongoing
The MLB's Baseball Tomorrow Fund is directed towards programs and schools that are determined to have youth involved in baseball. Funds may be used for improving the quality of baseball for youth ages 10-16 and support existing programs, new programs, and field construction or refurbishment. The average grant award is $50,000.
 
National Alliance for Accessible Golf
Deadline: Ongoing
With funding from the U.S. Golf Association, supports programs that help youth with disabilities play golf.  Programs can include improving access to the driving range and the golf course, golf instruction, golf clubs and bags, adaptive teaching equipment, transportation to and from programming, and inclusion activities.  Grant range:  $20,000.
Singing for Change
Deadline: Ongoing
Funded by singer Jimmy Buffet, offers grants that promote the health, education and protection of children and their families.  Start with a letter of intent.  The foundation then invites grant proposals from selected organizations. Grant range:  $500 - $10,000.  

Scholastic Book Grants
Deadline: Ongoing
Scholastic is sponsoring donations of 500 to 1,000 books to nonprofit organizations that foster literacy and a joy of reading among at-risk youth and families. Scholastic is particularly interested in promoting literacy in inner-city and rural areas.

Get Ur Good On Grants

Computers for Learning
Deadline: Ongoing

Places computers in classrooms, prepares children to contribute and compete in the 21st century, and allows government agencies and the private sector to transfer surplus computers and related equipment to schools and educational non-profit organizations.

Office Depot Foundation Grants
Deadline: Ongoing

The Office Depot Foundation supports nonprofit organizations, government agencies, libraries, and schools on a local and national scale that bring systemic change to the communities they serve. The Foundation provides grants averaging $1,000 in three distinct categories. The focus of the "Making a Difference in Children's Lives" category is on activities that serve, teach, and inspire children, youth, and families. Priority is given to organizations that participate in the Office Depot Foundation Leadership Network. Requests are reviewed monthly. FINISH LINE YOUTH FOUNDATION

Finish Line Youth Foundation focuses funding on organizations that provide opportunities for youth participation in the following areas:  Youth athletic programs, community-based programs addressing active lifestyle and team building skills, and Established camps with an emphasis on sports and active lifestyle, especially programs serving disadvantaged and special needs kids. GTECH AFTER-SCHOOL ADVANTAGE PROGRAM

Multiple awards of up to $15,000 worth of computers, online technology and computer software. Provides nonprofit community agencies and public schools with state-of-the-art computer labs.

LEGO CHILDREN'S FUND

The LEGO Children’s Fund will provide grants for programs designed to help children develop their creativity and learning skills through constructive play. Special emphasis is directed toward programs designed to promote early childhood education and development that is directly related to creativity; and technology and communication projects that advance learning opportunities.

JCPENNEY AFTERSCHOOL GRANTS
Deadline: Ongoing
Each year, JCPenney Afterschool  -- a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to supervised afterschool programs for school-aged children -- runs a "round-up" event at 1,100 local stores across the U.S., encouraging customers to round up their purchases to the nearest whole dollar and to donate the difference to JCPenney Afterschool, for use in after school programs. To apply for a JCPenney Afterschool grant, develop a grant proposal and contact your local JCPenney store. 

AFTER SCHOOL ADVANTAGE PROGRAM
Deadline: Ongoing
The GTECH Corporation is awarding afterschool computer labs to inner-city youth, ages 5-15, located in certain states, including Arizona. They will award 100 Computer Labs at $15,000 each to programs serving minority and at-risk children and youth.

CAPTAIN PLANET GRANTS
Deadline: Ongoing
The Captain Planet Foundation makes available grants, ranging from $250 to $2,500, for projects that engage children and youth in the environment with hands-on activities. Eligible programs will promote the understanding of environmental issues; focus on hands-on involvement; involve children ages 6 to 18; promote interaction and cooperation within the group; help children and youth develop planning and problem-solving skills; and include adult supervision. If awarded a grant, a commitment to follow-up communication with the Captain Planet Foundation also is required.

GRANTS FOR GARDENS

Annie's Homegrown offers a limited number of grants for up to $250 to fund community gardens, school gardens, and other educational programs that connect children directly to gardening. These funds can be used to buy gardening tools, seeds or other needed supplies.
