The Coalition for Science AfterSchool

The Coalition is a strategic alliance of individuals and organizations from STEM education, youth development and programs held outside of school time.  Their mission is to coordinate and mobilize community stakeholders to strengthen and expand opportunities that engage young people in science after school.

Great Science for Girls

GSG addresses the gender disparity in the science field, showing children that it is in fact, a “girl thing”.  It aims to provide inquiry-based, informal science learning programs that will stimulate girls’ curiosity, interest and persistence in STEM and break down the barriers of gender stereotyping.

Institute for Community & Adolescent Resiliency - Unifying Solutions (ICAR-US)

ICAR-US is a great resource for information on youth developmental assets.  They have identified the seven factors that can be used to assess, nurture, and sustain young people within the context of their environments.

An organization with the mission of helping children and adolescents with disorders of the brain, spinal cord and musculoskeletal system achieve their potential and participate as fully as possible in family, school and community life.   Includes information regarding diagnosis, treatment, research, and programs for families and care providers.

National Network for Child Care
National Network for Child Care is an Internet clearinghouse of over 1000 publications and resources about child care, which are research-based and reviewed. You can get support and assistance from experts in child care and child development through the resources available on this site.

A nationwide organization that works to expand the world of mentoring and connects children with high quality mentors.  In addition, the website offers information about beginning your own mentoring program, how to get involved locally, and relevant research.
